Acme E-Mail Update #19: Obama/McCain Comics

Fall has hit Greensboro and Acme in full force and, man, it feels good to kiss the heat goodbye for another year! As most of you know, we have a lot brewing as the leaves change, including a Halloween costume contest and trick-or-treat comics for the kids and our signing with Sean "Teen Titans" McKeever and Tony "Birds of Prey" Bedard!  So mark your calendars and tell your friends and coworkers!

To get everyone prepped for Sean's arrival, we caught up with him last weekend at Baltimore Comic Con so Jermaine could grill him about Teen Titans, Spider-man <3's Mary Jane, and television. Without further ado, Round 2: the Sean McKeever video interview!

This week we also have some particularly informative material coming in, the IDW comic biographies of presidential candidates John McCain and Barack Obama! Available as individual issues covering the two or as a collected flipbook edition, they're sure to get national media exposure and move quickly, so don't hesitate to let us know you need them! Limited quantities available!  UPDATE: Since the writing of this email, we have had several new customer walk-ins and phone calls inquiring about these comics.  Do not get scooped by the general public on this, use your inside track with the comic shop guys to get first printings!
 
Also, don't forget about the Acme Voting Incentive and check out the Alex Ross Barack Obama "Time for Change" shirts (McCain's camp didn't offer much in the way of merchandising so don't read into this too much)!

  • This week we got in waves and waves of loose Marvel Legends that subsequently started being sold faster than we could put them in the case! Act quick, cause we still have loose figures left from the much-sought-after Fin Fang Foom, Red Hulk, and Ares series!
  • The Batman: Joker original graphic novel by Brian Azzarello (100 Bullets) and Lee Bermejo is set to drop later this month. Even though we threw in hard behind it, ordering 20 copies, 12 of them are already spoken for! Do you have yours secured? This will be a 128 page, hardcover with all new material for $19.99, scheduled for release on the 29th! See what happens when the Joker decides he doesn't want to share with the other crooks in Gotham!
  • Can you believe the website is almost a year old!? Well, believe it! Stephen's planning a week full of new content each day to celebrate, so stay tuned!
  • Acme First Look #48 - Stephen's So-Called Emo Life! - Iron Man DVD, Forgetting Sarah Marshall DVD, 30 Rock Season 2 DVD, Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist, the Office Season 5 premiere, Pushing Daisies Season 2 premiere, and NOT Fall Out Boy's "I Don't Care."
  • We're finally getting around to putting out the new backstock! Letters K-M, Birds of Prey, Captain America, the Avengers, and Iron Man are not completely up to speed with what we have to offer, so check them out!
