Good to be back in the 'Boro working on the blog, but it's not to be for long! Next Friday I'll be up in the Garden State for my cousin's wedding, typing from Grandma's house, but travel always brings new food and new comic book stores!
The above drawing came about at HeroesCon last weekend. Sitting in on the Comic Twart panel and trying to get into the spirit of the room, I wanted to draw, but I arrived a few minutes late and didn't hear what everyone was working on, so I started drawing Ms. Marvel. Later, when I heard they were working on Luke Cage, I knew exactly what to re-focus my energies on and I finished the piece on Monday. Stephen's So-Called Emo Life!
- The Good Guys - a summer premiere on Fox. Half camp 70s buddy cop show, half action adventure starring Colin Hanks and the West Wing's Bradley Whitford. Still too early to tell if I'm really digging it or just enjoying the fact that former cast members of Aaron Sorkin shows are back on TV.
- Amp Energy Juice - someone dropped off 8 cases of it while we were off at the show last weekend. The cast was kind of weird at first, but once I convince myself it was the same as Minute Maid orange juice I started drinking it faster than is probably healthy. Two very caffeinated thumbs up.
- True Blood Season 3 - playing every Sunday at 9 PM at the Carousel Luxury Cinemas on Battleground! Admission is FREE! After watching season 2 this past week I think they're working with a great world, just kind of wonky writing and pretty bad acting.
- Green Day Rock Band - I dropped the ball and completely forgot to pick it up on Tuesday, but quickly corrected the misstep on Wednesday! I'll do a further review later, but basically it's awesome and I never gave Tre Cool enough credit as a drummer!
- Kirby Krackle Video - animated! For "Up Up Down Down"! Peep it below!
