I received some news a week ago and honestly I was really speechless, both vocally and world-wide-webily. I was completely floored, but I was also trying to play it cool. I've let it slip out a couple of times around the store and Jermaine teased it in the e-mail, but here goes: I'M GONNA BE IN SIEGE: EMBEDDED #2!!!
Given the events on the panels directly following my first appearance in the Marvel U. I don't know how long I'll be for the 616 world, but I still owe Chris Samnee another heaping pile of thanks. I put my name all over Siege: Embedded #1 two weeks ago and last weekend I heralded his return to Acme for Free Comic Book Day 2010, but including me in his artwork goes above and beyond any number of his books I could sell and any number of nice things I could say about him.
If you want this little piece of Acme history, be sure to add Siege: Embedded to your list before #2 hits the shelves on February 3rd!Â
Stephen's So-Called Emo Life!
- The Guild - MATURE VIEWERS! Jermaine directed me towards this one and I'm intrigued to see how they're going to turn it into a comic from Dark Horse in March.
- Let's Dish - interesting experience. My parents got Carly and I a gift certificate for Christmas in an attempt to curb our excessive eating out. You show up and prep meals that you go home and freeze and make later on in the week. The in-store experience was very enjoyable, but I suppose I'll have to post again after I've sampled the goods.
- Doctor Who - re-watching series 1 for the first time in what must be about 3 years. I always preferred Eccleston to Tennant, but hearing "That's fanTAStic" again just really drives it home.
- Summerland - by Michael Chabon (The Amazing Adventures of Cavalier and Clay). Probably best classified as a young adult novel that mixes baseball and Norse mythology. I read it for the first time about five years ago, before my re-ignited love of the Yankees or my wider knowledge of Thor. With Siege underway and Spring Training just a month away, there seemed no better time to pull it down off the shelf.
