As much fun as I had with Chris Giarrusso these last couple weeks, I can't say how good it is to get back in the saddle with Gregg, taking things back to square one for RE: Comics! and me and Gregg's comics reading history! 

Hopefully by now you've all picked up your jam-packed copies of X-BABIES #4 by Gregg and Jacob Chabot, but incase the snow and ice has kept you away, there are still some of the shelves!

The big question on everyone's mind today seems to be "If it snows tonight, how will that affect the Violet Ring Release planned for tomorrow?" If it snows enough that we decide to keep the shop closed, rings will be available whenever we open up again until whenever they run out. If it doesn't snow enough to keep the shop closed, as long as we're here tomorrow the rings will be available. Stay tuned to the website and the twitter feed for updates as the weather progresses.

For those of you new to the email, we're going to repeat the shocking news regarding Marvel's Siege event!

Due to the impact from the four part Siege of Asgard event...

Make sure you have New Avengers, Dark Avengers, Mighty Avengers, and Avengers Initiative on your lists to witness the end of an era.  This one is going to shock you the same way Avengers Disassembled shocked you so be ready!

Stephen: While last week we focused on the Mini Marvels Ultimate Collection and the impact those strips and stories had on your career, this week we’re gonna live a little more in the now and go through the G-Man Cape Crisis mini series issue by issue.

If Siege #2 and Siege: Embedded #2 were coming out, this would probably be the best week of comics EVER!

But FIRST! Hopefully you've checked out the homepage or the Upcoming Events in the sidebar and noticed that in addition to our preliminary Free Comic Book Day announcements, we've also given the details on not one, but TWO, count 'em TWO! March Madness signing events!

As we told you, Marvel Comics' Siege event was going to be big.  Civil War big, something that would change the landscape.  Change how all of us do business when dealing with the Marvel Universe.  But that's what they always say, right?  This time is different.  Some of you may have already seen last Friday's announcement, but for those who missed it, here it is again.


That's right, the best selling New and Dark Avengers as well as the Mighty Avengers and Avengers Initiative monthly titles all come to a close due to whatever develops in the course of the four part Siege storyline!  Make sure that all of these books are on your lists NOW so that you can witness the end of an era!

G-Man Cape Crisis #5 is in store's tomorrow, Wednesday, January 20th!!!

Stephen: In Gregg'sabsence I'm lucky enough to be joined by another friend of mine and afantastic creator to boot. Many of you have probably already met him atlast year's Marvel March Madness event or the G-Man's Greensboro Cape Crisisevent in October, but I'm very pleased to welcome Chris Giarrusso asthe first ever RE: Comics! guest star!Chris: Thanks, it's great to be here!

I received some news a week ago and honestly I was really speechless, both vocally and world-wide-webily. I was completely floored, but I was also trying to play it cool. I've let it slip out a couple of times around the store and Jermaine teased it in the e-mail, but here goes: I'M GONNA BE IN SIEGE: EMBEDDED #2!!!

Congratulations to Charles Ivey on winning the 2009 Acme Comics Customer of the Year Award! Chuck makes every effort to stop by the store on Wednesday and get the newest Green Lantern books, delves into the back issues boxes whenever Geoff Johns drops a breadcrumb clue in a new interview, and most importantly he always shares everything that he's discovered with his fellow Acme customers on the store message board!

Gregg will be taking a break for the next couple of weeks, but I'll be using that opportunity to bring in some guest columnists and keep the industry talk rolling in 2010! On deck is Acme favorite Chris Giarrusso, so check back next week for that piece of RE: Comics! history!
