The introduction to the Immortal Iron Fist Omnibus is best described as a $75 intro. I don't care if you have the issues, I don't care if you have the premiere hardcovers, and I don't care if you have the trades. If you don't have these two pages of winding, non-sensical prose, you've got nothing.
Iron Fist writer Matt Fraction barely made it through the first half at HeroesCon without cracking himself up.

Gregg and I had a great time hanging out with everyone down at HeroesCon and before we get back into the rough-and-tumble world of comic discussion we thought it would be good to get back into the swing of things with a good ol' fashioned con report! But FIRST, I'd just like to point out that on Sunday afternoon at the show it was officially announced that Gregg is writing X-BABIES from Marvel! The book will be drawn by Gregg's buddy and Mighty Skullboy Army creator Jacob Chabot! It's set to release in October! Stay tuned to Acme Comics.com for more news about X-Babies and our pal Gregg.

I regain the helm this week and with HeroesCon 2009 a scant 10 days away, I couldn't think of anything better to talk about than the beasts that are comic book conventions. While we start out with a pretty broad view, we quickly boil things down into need-to-know information about the biggest show in our own backyard.
Gregg will be guest at HeroesCon on June 19th-21st and as a result he and I will be taking a break from RE: Comics! until June 30th so we can both get prepped beforehand and decompress afterwards. We could probably make this topic a series of discussions on it’s own,
but I want to touch on All-Ages comics, even if it’s only a tip of the
iceberg kind of talk.
It always seems like there’s a lot of chatter and calls for books for
kids or material to bring in new readers, but if you look over the
comics landscape and what sells, at least in comic stores, the pudding
lacks proof; looking at sales numbers they’re often on the lower end,
circulation-wise.
So in honor of the release of Chris Giarrusso’s G-MAN: LEARNING TO FLY
digest from Image Comics* a couple weeks ago, let me ask: What makes a
comic an all-ages comic? What are good examples of all-ages comics,
critically and commercially? And do all-ages comics sell, really, or is
it a vocal minority that wants to see more all-ages material?
